I can only imagine the fashionable ladies of July 4th, 1776 wore outfits similar to my favorite hysterical romance covers or on the highly entertaining, but factually dubious TV show Sleepy Hollow, set during the American Revolution.

 

Fortunately, fashion in the year 2015, is much more practical and diverse.
